Ross Squire Homes has started construction on a new display home in Toodyay.
Named “The Moondyne” by the public in a competition, and earmarked to be open in July this year, the display is a cosy farmhouse style thee bedroom, two bathroom home with a wide shady verandah to the front of the home, large alfresco and a carport.
With a house floor area of 128sqm, the Moondyne features a spacious master suite, large living area, and two well sized minor bedrooms.
“This is one of the more compact display homes we’ve built,” said Steve Grehan, Ross Squire Homes General Manager.
“It’s been especially designed as a solution for those wanting to downsize, or looking for an easy care, lock up and leave home – perfect for those who travel frequently, or work away.”
“An inherent advantage of a framed home is its quick build time frame – you’ll be in your home quicker when compared to traditional brick and mortar construction,” said Steve.
The display will also feature varied construction methods utilised by Ross Squire Homes – such as the use of timber frames, and feature different cladding options.
“To showcase an alternative to a sand pad foundation with slab on ground construction, the display will be built on a subfloor system – a house on poles or stumps,” said Steve.
“A subfloor is ideal for sites with steep slopes, granite outcrop, difficult terrain or reactive soil where a sand pad and slab foundation would otherwise potentially be costly.”
“This system also appeals to those who want to maintain aesthetics and have minimal impact on the land.”
